The shelter’s off-site team offers special adoption incentives, including a pet-food starter kit, free plush toys, plus information about the joys of adopting. This weekend we’ll be at Santa Fe’s PetSmart, 3561 Zafarano Drive: Friday, Oct. 25, from noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26, from noon to 3 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 27, from 11:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Reduced fees are not all during these special, off-site events. Every adopted pet will receive a special gift, a sample bag of pet food and delicious treats to start their new journey on a sweet note. Plus, all pets are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and eagerly waiting to become cherished members of loving families.

Española Humane and the Office of the Santa Fe County Clerk are partnering for a unique opportunity to adopt a pet before or after people cast a vote at two early voting locations.
Paws at the Polls combines civic engagement with community service, said Santa Fe County Clerk Katharine E. Clark, in announcing the new initiative.
"We’re always looking for ways to boost voter turnout,” said Clark, “and by combining voting with pet adoptions, we hope to draw more people to these Early Voting locations for the 2024 General Election."
This event is scheduled for:
· Friday, Nov. 1, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Nancy Rodriguez Community Center, 1 Prairie Dog Loop, Santa Fe
· Saturday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m.-noon, at the Pojoaque Satellite Office, 5 W. Gutierrez St., Santa Fe
The adoption event will feature puppies at both polling sites. Every adopted pet will receive a special gift, a sample bag of pet food and delicious treats to start their new journey on a sweet note. Plus, all pets are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and eagerly waiting to become cherished members of loving families.
