Petsense hosts Saturday, Oct. 19, adoption event and vaccine clinic

An Española pet store is hosting a pet Halloween costume contest, adoptions and vaccination clinic event Saturday, Oct. 19, that includes prizes and giveaways. The 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. party takes place at Petsense, 1506 N. Riverside Drive, Española, in the Lowe’s parking complex. Free pet vaccinations are available for all pets through Española Humane’s Pet Amigos program. Free vaccines distributed through Petco Love’s national initiative include DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines. Free rabies vaccines are provided through Española Humane’s generous donors. Pet adoptions are provided through Española Humane, Los Alamos County Animal Shelter and Dixon Animal Protection Society. The New Mexico Wildlife Center and Pizza 9 will also be a part of the event. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to register for the costume contest, which begins at 2 p.m. Winners will be announced after the contest and photos will be posted on the store’s Facebook page. Prizes will be given to first-, second- and third-place winners. There will be free giveaways during the party. Española Humane’s adoptable pets are spay/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and ready to go home to loving families. Puppies and kittens are available for $25; adult pets are fee waived.
