Espanola Humane Partners with BISSELL Foundation for “Empty the Shelters” Adoption Event

Espanola Humane is honored to be a part of the BISSELL Pet Foundation’s national effort to find homes for pets this spring, reducing fees for its Empty the Shelters adoption event through Wednesday, May 15.

• Española Humane will participate May 1-15, at its main shelter, 108 Hamm Parkway, Española, N.M., offering fee-waived adoption fees for adult cats and dogs, and $25 for kittens and puppies and fee-waived adoptions on all adult pets. The adoption fees are the same at the shelter’s mobile adoption events at PetSmart on Friday, May 3 and May 10; Rowley Farmhouse Ales on Saturday, May 4 and Ford Quick Lane on Saturday, May 11.

BISSELL Pet Foundation’s “Empty the Shelters” event is the largest funded adoption event in the country. This lifesaving event began in 2016 with a goal of encouraging more families to choose adoption. More than 226, 000 pets have found loving homes since its inception. “Empty the Shelters” is BISSELL Pet Foundation’s largest program, partnering with 742 animal welfare organizations in 49 states and Canada to reduce adoption fees.

Adoptions have slowed while a surge in owner surrenders due to families facing economic and housing challenges has left tens of thousands of highly adoptable pets desperate to find homes," said Cathy Bissell, Founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation. "Our Spring National ‘Empty the Shelters' will support the adoption of thousands of pets across the country, helping shelters in this critical time. Adoption event at Quick Lane at Capitol Ford

Quick Lane at Capitol Ford 4464 Cerrillos Road, Santa Fe

Capitol Ford’s Quick Lane at the Santa Fe Auto Park is partnering with Española Humane for a special adoption event this Saturday, featuring irresistibly adorable puppies and kittens eagerly awaiting loving families. During this event, puppies and kittens are available for an adoption fee of only $25, while the adoption fee for adult dogs is waived.

Join us on Saturday, May 11, from noon to 3 p.m. at Quick Lane, 4464 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe. It's your chance to find your new best friend and give them a forever home!

Reduced fees are not all during these special, off-site events. Every adopted pet will receive a special gift, a sample bag of pet food and delicious treats to start their new journey on a sweet note. Plus, all pets are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and eagerly waiting to become cherished members of loving families.

Adoption requirements remain the same during these special events. Please note that adoption fees are different at the shelter’s main location, so be sure to check the website for the most current fees as they are subject to change.
