Logan (In Foster)

Hello! My name is Logan (In Foster)!

Here’s what my friends at Española Humane say about me:

- From his Foster Parent:
This is "Logan". He is a puppy that is post-parvo (but he never got sick), he's very good natured and loves to be with people - he's very much a lap/couch dog who loves to snuggle up for a movie or just sit on your lap. He loves his puppy toys or even just a cardboard box to chew on the corners and is so good about not chewing things he's not supposed to (cushions, furniture, etc.)! He is doing great with potty training... he goes outside if you get him out often enough and indoors he is really good about going on a puppy pad. He is living with 3 cats and sometimes chases them but it is playful and he has been left alone with the cats and they tend to put him in his place if need be. He did not take well to being crated at night, or even being in another room from us at night, so I have been sleeping on the couch with him, but last night he he was able to do about 4 hours by himself on the couch before he got scared and cried for someone to come sleep with him. I think he'd be great for anyone looking for a very cuddly lap/couch dog and a smaller dog (he is a low rider!). He's probably one of the best behaved puppies I've ever fostered. He is very smart, knows "sit" and is responsive to commands/training.

If you’re interested in adopting me, fill out an application to get a jump start on the process! We don’t offer holds on shelter pets, so c’mon in to meet and greet to decide if you’ve met your match. Applications for pets in foster care, at Ojo Santa Fe, or offsite in other programs will be reviewed by staff before appointments are scheduled.

More Questions?

  • How much does it cost to adopt a pet?

Puppies and kittens range from $10 to $50. Adults over 6 months are usually free. Adoption fees will be higher for certain breeds and in some locations. For example, Ojo Santa Fe puppies are typically $150.

  • How do my adoption fees help the shelter?

Adoption fees help with medical care, food, and shelter for all animals, not just the youngest or cutest. Most of that expense is paid by our fundraising efforts.

  • How can I prepare my home for adoption?

It depends on your floof’s age and whether they’re a dog or cat. Check out our tips for preparing your home for your new pet. We provide you with a “starter kit” of a collar, pet food and treats.

Also learn about the 3-3-3 rule. It takes a new pet 3 days to calm down, 3 weeks to adapt to your family, and 3 months to bond and build trust. Don’t worry. We’ll have more details and other tips in your adoption package.

  • How do I become a foster parent?

It’s simple. Start by filling out a foster application and our team will contact you. Fostering can be as easy as having a litter of young ones in a spare bathroom before they go to an adoption event. Or, maybe you’d like an adult to spend time with your family, just to see how that pet transforms with a little love and attention. We promise it’ll be rewarding.
